About Us
In 1999 an attorney Named Frederick W. Penney of Penney and Associates, wanted to buy racing parts for his race car that ran at a local track in Roseville. He quickly, realized that there were very few racing supply companies in the West Coast and seized on the opportunity to build up and become one of the largest and most successful racing parts companies west of the Mississippi River. In 1999, Penney Racing Supply was Born. Run out of a small 2,500 square foot shop in Sacramento, Penney, with the help of some top race car fabricators and race car drivers, began to stock parts and build race cars for teams in the West Coast. Penney soon started to race his own custom built race cars at Roseville and soon in the Nascar Southwest Tour series. Penney Racing Supply cars began to win races in a number of divisions including open shows. In 2004, RCR Cup driver Dave Blaney raced a Penney prepared car at Infineon raceway. Penney Racing Supply continued to grow at a fast pace requiring the company to move two years later to a larger 5,000 square foot facility in Rocklin, CA. Penney was now preparing race cars, selling race parts and vending the Roseville Race Track. The company continued to grow until it moved again to a new state of the art approximately 20,000 square foot building off of Roseville Road in Sacramento. Presently Penney Racing Supply houses all types of racing parts in its new large facility.
In 2007, Penney Racing Supply purchased two premier race engine shops, Comptech USA from El Dorado Hills and DC Racing Engines in Denver, Co. Penney Racing Supply and its sister companies, Comptech and DC Racing Engines, now service many asphalt, dirt, drag and off road race teams with engines. In fact a number of the Penney owned Comptech racing engines have been featured in the famous Indy 500 race. In 2000 the Penney Comptech race engine won the Indy 500 race, piloted by Juan Pablo Montoya. In 2007 Comptech Racing Engines brought Mazda its first ever Speed World Challenge manufacture championship. DC Racing Engines are equally accomplished and have won many Nascar and Dirt race championships. For further details see www.comptechusa.com and www.dcraceengines.com .
